Best in Class Contract Vehicles

If you are thinking about pursuing a new contract vehicle but holiday arrangements are limiting your work hours, try narrowing your scope to best-in-class contracts. To be named a best-in-class (BIC) contract, a vehicle must demonstrate to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) that they have exceptionally high performance standards, use strong management strategies, and meet rigorous requirements and definitions outlined by OMB. Securing a BIC contract vehicle helps to build past performance and can widen your scope of sales to the government. For more information, and to find a list of current BIC contracts, visit GSA’s BIC page.

Critical information

VSC Password Updates

GSA recently implemented a Multi-Factor Authentication to protect user information and to make several sites more secure. The new security updates affected several GSA portals, including: eBuy, Advantage Spend Analysis Program, Schedules Input Program, Reserve Actions, and 72A Quarterly Reporting System. Moving forward, you will have to reset your GSA password in order to access these portals and enter a One-Time Security Code. It’s important to understand these updates and to ensure that your information is up-to-date so that you’re able to continue accessing the above-mentioned GSA portals.

Emerging business opportunities
  • One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) Unrestricted Pool Two is now open and looking for new contractors; you can find the solicitation by visiting the Federal Business Opportunities website here
  • The Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) contract is expected to be released soon, however, despite controversy, this is expected to be a single-award contract in order to increase acquisition speed. Review the draft solicitation here.
  • The Transportation Security Administrations Integrated Hiring Operations and Personnel Program (IHOPP) will end January 18th, 2019. Contractors interested in this contract vehicle should begin considering recompete potential.
Frequently asked questions

How long is the process from submission to award?

When a proposal is submitted, it could take anywhere from three months to a year to see an award. Schedules such as GSA IT Schedule 70 generally have the quickest turnaround, especially through the IT 70 Springboard or FAStLane Programs. Others, such as the Professional Services Schedule will take closer to a year.

What is TAA compliance?

The list of TAA compliant countries can be found in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.225-5. If a product is manufactured in a country such as China, it must be sufficiently transformed in the United States to be TAA compliant. If you are unsure about a product, it is best to leave it off your GSA Schedule!
