Trade Agreements Act (TAA) and Your GSA Schedule Contract

All GSA Schedule contractors must follow the Trade Agreements Act (TAA), meaning they agree that each “final product” they sell has been “substantially transformed” in the U.S. or in a signatory country designated by the TAA. The Trade Agreements Act was created to foster fair and open international trade, but more importantly, it determined that GSA contractors may only acquire U.S. made or TAA designated end products.

You need to keep up TAA compliance throughout the life of your GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract, which can last for up to 20 years. Although TAA compliant countries do not change very often, it’s important to routinely check the list to make sure you are abiding by GSA’s regulations.
