GSA Unveils a GWACs Dashboard to the Public

GSA Schedule | Government Business Development | Government | Technology | Resources and Insight | Contracts | 1 Min Read

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) unveiled on November 27, 2012 a dashboard that consolidates all Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) spending from 2004 through present date. The data that is shown is all of the non-classified data on federal IT purchases that have been purchased using task orders under the various GWACs. The dashboard also allows searches on small business specific contracting vehicles like 8(a)STARS; 8(a) STARS II; Alliant; Alliant SB; and VETS GWAC programs.

The GWACS dashboard allows the user to search by:

  • Federal Agency
  • Industry Partner (companies)
  • Specific data points, for example award date; contract number; obligated value, etc.

The dashboard allows the user to analyze and target specific agencies on where the contracting dollars are going as well as the specific companies that are being awarded task orders. The information provided in the dashboard will help companies determine what specifically is being purchased to serve the needs of the government. Knowing what the federal government is purchasing is the first step to developing a detailed strategic sales plan. Contractors must also examine not only which Federal agencies to target, but industry partners as well.
